All welcome to this photography adventure, which is designed for hobbyists, enthusiasts, and seasoned photographers. We will be exploring a pre-scouted route, allowing us the opportunity, subject to the weather to create meaningful images.
A photography adventure is designed to take you to places that you’ve never been to before without all the hassle of meticulous planning.
Everyone is welcome – bird photographers, landscape photographers, or those who would just like a peaceful day on this beautiful island.
- Boarding at Bideford at 7.00 am
- Sailing at 7.30 am
- Meeting Mark on the Quayside on Lundy
- A photography adventure of the island, Lundy, with photography know-how on hand as required
- Lundy Annual Air Day (30th July 2022)
- Returning to Bideford around 6.30 pm (approx)
Please enter the full names and genders of your passengers in the ‘Order Notes’ Box. This is a health and safety requirement for the ship.
Lundy’s own ship, the MS Oldenburg, is a graceful motor vessel, comfortable and built on traditional lines. Below decks, she retains her original panelling and brass fittings but has been skillfully modernised to provide heated saloons, bar, buffet, shop and information centre.
The bar offers a wide range of drinks and a relaxing atmosphere, whilst hot and cold food is provided at the buffet. You can while away the time in the ship’s well-stocked shop or find out more about the island at the information centre.
On fine days there is plenty of space on deck and if you are lucky you may be treated to the company of a playful pod of dolphins who often delight in following the ship.
We are hopeful that the trip can be run again, but it is obviously dependent on the ongoing COVID-19 situation and weather. Updates and information regarding the trip and the availability of tickets will be posted on this page and circulated via email.
The date is chosen after taking into account tide times, which govern sailing and return times. This is important as many people have to travel considerable distances, both before and after the event.
As much notice as possible and full refunds will always be given if a trip is expected to be cancelled.

“After having owned my Nikon DSLR camera for many years and never having taken it off Auto, I decided to join Mark on one of his Full Day Camera courses. He took me through the basics and encouraged me throughout the day, by adding new skills at varying locations. By the time we had finished, I felt confident to continue learning and practising my new skills. A great day for those who need to better understand their camera. Thanks Mark.” Karen, Porlock, Somerset.

”We had some lovely days with sun, clouds, rain and wind. Today an Exmoor photographer showed us some beautiful places on Exmoor. Thank you Mark Stothard for taking us the whole day out and giving us a lot of tips ?” Elma, Facebook, NL.
“Mark’s passion for his art of photography, comes through in the warmth and professionalism he shows in all his workshops. He makes you feel welcome, relaxed and nothing is too much trouble! He simplifies instructions so that we can all understand. We all come away feeling greatly inspired and with new knowledge to become better photographers ourselves. His variety of workshops shows his broad knowledge. I particularly enjoyed the trip out onto Exmoor to photograph ponies and Highland cattle, where his enthusiasm is evident. The ambience of the smaller groups, where everyone is friendly and Mark inspires us to help each other, as well as sharing his tips and knowledge with us. I would thoroughly recommend attending any of his workshops.” Sue, Bridgwater, Somerset.
“I joined Mark on one of his 1 to 1 workshops “New to Photography Workshop” back in April 2019, I wanted to rejuvenate my hobby for photography, having been a member of a local camera club where if your face fits you were ok I wanted to understand more about photography and techniques, well 18 mths on having been a regular attendee on his walks and trips I feel I have learned much more from a very motivated, experienced educator and communicator.” Malcolm, Somerset via email
